Gale

7 WEEKS  |  INDIVIDUAL  PROJECT  |  2019

“Imagine carrying a wet umbrella around- the raindrops drip everywhere, it wet your bag, clothing...”

Gale is an umbrella dryer that helps create a cleaner building entrance when there is heavy rain. The Gale uses high-speed air to dry umbrellas within 10 seconds, and it could save money and plastic for a business in the long term.

Besides, the dryer is designed for a high traffic environment. It helps users avoid chaotic situations like an umbrella wetting one's belongs, people clogging in front of the entrance on a rainy day.

The Gale would enhance people's experience of carrying umbrellas on a rainy day.

This project illustrates how I use design as a tool to solve problems. Additionally, use my 3D design skills to create models and renderings  that would effectively convey my concept to others.

The new curve also has a larger radius for the drying spot. Therefore an umbrella that is foldable or has a wider body can also be used easily.

The New LED screen tells users how long the drying time remains.
